  • How much does a security system cost?

    Prices may vary. Our professional sales representatives will create a personalized quote for your home or business. Call us today!

  • Do I have to have a landline in my house for my security system to communicate?

    No, your system can communicate with our monitoring center via a cellular communication module.

  • Are your technicians vetted?

    We hire technicians with care. Our experienced technicians go through background checks and are drug tested. We hand-pick each one with referrals from people in the industry whom we trust.

  • Is a contract required for service?

    Yes, we’ll ask you to sign a one-year agreement. This agreement will outline all equipment warranty, service, and monitoring.

  • What is a panic or duress code?

    If an intruder forces you into your home, they will want you to turn off your security system. You may enter your duress codes at this time. This will make the system appear to disarm. However, the monitoring center will immediately dispatch the police.

  • What if I have a problem with my system after hours?

    For your convenience, our dispatch center is open 24 hours a day. You will always speak with a live representative when you call.

  • When do I need to call the local office and the dispatch center?

    For sales and maintenance of your security equipment, you may call the local office number at (812) 296-4061. For an active system, please call the dispatch number at (773) 777-0707.

  • What if my batteries are low on my wireless system?

    Batteries may be replaced by the homeowner or by our professional technicians with a service call. Batteries for your wireless devices may be purchased at any store as well as in our office. Control panel batteries differ by panel. Reach out to our office for more details.

  • Do I own my equipment?

    Yes, when our sales representative provides you with a quote, the purchase of equipment is included in the price for which there is a one-year parts and labor warranty.

  • How often will my prices increase?

    5 Star Security prides itself by keeping prices competitive and many times below our competitors. We do our very best to provide the best service in the most cost-effective way.

  • Do you take credit cards?

    No, 5 Star Security does not take credit cards as a means of payment to keep our rates as low as possible.

  • Do you provide financing for my system?

    Unfortunately, 5 Star Security does not provide financing.

  • Am I eligible for a discount on my homeowner's insurance by having a security system?

    Yes, please notify your agent to get more information. Our office is happy to reach out to your agent with confirmation of your services.
